Originally inspired by the bumps lining the sides of subway platforms, this pattern when magnified and carved into the bottom of these two tables reminded the maker of the belly of a mythical beast and so the Dragon Tables were born.

The XOX Belly Table is made from reclaimed White Oak barn wood. It features over 130 hand chiseled wood stitches and patches. The legs are mortised in by hand. The pattern of bubbles combined with the X shape of the wood stitches reads XOX.

This series of 11 signed and numbered Red Barron Bar tables were custom made for Downtown LA's Resident bar. They were made from recycled Douglas Fir beams and solid 3/8" thick powder coated aluminum tops. Playing with weight and size, these sturdy outdoor tables add a touch of color to the bar's earth-toned garden.

This Coffee table features a recycled Douglas Fir top with 69 Legs made from recycled Maple work benches. It has spline joinery that intersects with the legs with a half lap joint that is hidden within the table structure. The legs are featured in the top of the table as a detail.

The Baby Whale Belly Benches are made from Red Oak beams that were originally used as pedestals for the sculptures of the artist Dustin Yellin at the Samuel Freeman gallery. These upcycled benches were custom designed for Samuel Freeman with a carving inspired by his family farm's freshly plowed spring fields that happened to look like whale bellies.

This Grasshopper Lounge Chair is made from windfall Persimmon wood that fell in the 2011 windstorm at the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanical Garden. It was sold in the Forces of Nature auction with partial proceeds going to the Arboretum to replant new trees.

The Bubble Belt Chair was designed intentionally to be the most wasteful chair by allowing the user to use a new sheet of bubble wrap with every sit. It highlights the abundance of waste used during shipping and encourages people to be mindful. It was made from recycled Douglas Fir that was once a conveyer belt in Cannery Row in Northern California. The use of this wood lends to the critique of shipping because it was originally used for the mass production of sardine canning.

The Marshmallow Woodblock Print Bench is made from windfall Persimmon wood that fell at the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in the 2011 wind storm. It features a relief carving that depicts a field of of growing marshmallow boxes. Before being turned into a bench nine hand rubbed vacuum pressed embossed prints were created from the bench top. This piece is part of an instillation that was shown at the Anderson Ranch Art Center in Aspen Colorado and will be featured at the Los Angeles Craft and Folk Art Museum.

The Marshmallow Box Garden instillation features hand made boxes growing out of a fallen tree as a direct metaphor for making objects out of urban salvaged wood. The boxes are made from a variety of Oak Dunnage, the stems are made from steam bent Ash, and the tree is an Aspen tree that was damaged in a storm and removed from the Anderson Ranch property. Each box holds one marshmallow and the tops are held on with magnetic clasps.

The God Save the Queen Beehive is a traditional Japanese style beehive. It was commissioned by Walker Rollins, owner and operator of One Strong Hive. The beehive is made out of recycled Douglas Fir beams and features finger jointed boxes fitted tight without glue so it doesn't contaminate the honey. It has a cast cement weight at the base and hemp rope binds the piece together. Inside stainless steal wires supports the honeycomb. There are CNC mill carvings of bees featured on the front of each box.
