Dunnage Oak, Soap

Add beauty and elegance to your living room with this hand carved solid oak lounge chair.

Crafted from dunnage Oak that traveled back and forth along the historic Santa Fe train line holding up freight for over 60 years this tough old American wood has most likely traveled more of the South West than you.

Half lap joints make up the legs and the oversized slats are held in place with live mortise and tenon joinery. It features an all natural soap finish which designer Hans Wegner often used on his Danish modern chairs. It produces a muted wood tone and a soft touch that is beautiful, easy to apply and non toxic. If the finish ever dulls just freshen it up with a little more soap.

Unfortunately, this version cannot go outside because of the wood type and finish. However, I just so happen to have thick red cedar beams that would make perfect outdoor versions of the Perch Chair. Please email for inquiries:)
