This solid Persimmon Bench top is carved in relief with the image of a field of marshmallow box flowers growing in Aspen Colorado. The top was used to make a series of 7 hand rubbed block prints. The prints started with hand made Japanese paper that was inked and then embossed with a vacuum press to create a soft pillow like texture. The legs and stretcher are made with a series of half-lap joints out of reclaimed spalted dunnage white oak. The top is made from very rare Persimmon wood that was urban salvage from the Los Angeles Arboretum after the tree was blown down in a windstorm. This is a perfect entrance way bench that is designed to be paired with a framed Marshmallow Box Garden Print hanging behind it.
